WHAT IS VIETNAMESE CUISINE?
At Pho Hoa Restaurant, we feature authentic Vietnamese cuisine from all regions of Vietnam.
PHO ~ Beef Noodle Soup
Pho is our specialty and it is a product of the Northern region of Vietnam. Northern Vietnamese cuisine is described as having subtle flavors with a large emphasis on beef. At the heart of our pho is the skillfully crafted broth which is a five hour process from start to finish. If you waft the hot steam rising from your bowl, you may notice the scent of ginger, star anise, cinnamon, along with the aroma of fresh scallions and cilantro.
BUN BO HUE ~ Hue Special Soup
Bun Bo Hue is a soup from the Hue region of Vietnam which is located in central Vietnam. The distinguishing features of this soup, which are also representative of the region’s cuisine, are the bright colors, spiciness, and the use of lemongrass.
HU TIEU NAM VANG ~ Nam Vang Style Soup
Hu Tieu style soup is a product of southern Vietnam. South Vietnamese cuisine is notable for the abundance of seafood and fresh herbs. This soup has a light seafood broth and comes with shrimp and fish cake.
BUN ~ Vermicelli Bowls
Vermicelli bowls are healthy, light, and delicious. Our vermicelli bowls are accompanied with your choice of meat grilled to just the right tenderness and are garnished with pan fried scallions and crushed peanuts. The vermicelli bowls also come with a side of shredded lettuce, bean sprouts, julienned carrots and is served with a special prepared sweet fish sauce.
DIA COM ~ Rice Plates
Rice plates come with a a side of fresh vegetables with your choice of grilled meat. What makes rice plates special is the rice that it is traditionally served with. For our rice plates we serve broken (ground) rice that is cooked with coconut.
GA XAO CA RI ~ Chicken Curry
Our two signature stir fry sauces are our curry and lemongrass sauces. Our curry sauce is influenced by our Thai neighbors to the south and has a distinct coconut milk flavor. Our lemongrass sauce is a product of the Hue (central) region and is spicy and flavorful.
CA KHO TO ~ Iron Pot Braised Fish
Braising is a popular method of cooking family style entrees. For our Iron Pot Braised Fish, we braise fresh catfish in a soy and fish sauce. Coarsely chopped scallions are tossed in the boiling pot as the sauce caramelizes. The result is a very rich dish, so rich, that it must be eaten with rice.
